Many of these receipts are from highway driving during a trip from Florida to Ct and back in the first week of June, 2008. [I was caravaning with my my son and daughter-in-law as they went back to school.] When I can do it, my highway driving is with the cruise control set within the range between 70-75 mph.

Pictured above is a receipt from my latest fill-up. 256.3 miles, 19.016 gallons, yielding about 13.5 miles per gallon of fuel economy. This was entirely city driving. I also confess that I am sometimes a competitive driver when it comes to speed and lane position. I suspect that a more conservative "slow and steady" driving style would yield higher mileage to around the 15 mpg level. My best fuel economy was achieved on the long freeway driving when I set the cruise-control at 70 mph. That yielded a mpg result of over 21.
